Section: 5.1 - cognitive mapping exercise

Residents each received two 11x17 paper maps of the neighborhood and were asked to mark them up and bring to the next meeting. One map was to express their interests and concerns from the perspective of the whole community and on the second map they were to highlight their personal interests in the neighborhood. Shown are several examples of the maps the residents produced.
On these maps they expressed concerns about traffic, cleanliness of the street and fronts of properties and more historically sensitive remodeling of older homes. They also listed locations for community open space/ parks and mentioned the need to connect to the adjacent West Bank Greenway, to address gateways into the area, as well as the need to address vacant lots.
