The Visual Interactive
Code™ (VIC™) is a dynamic multimedia format that enables you to communicate your
regulation or guidelines in a manner that better reflects your community – both
its people and the physical context. The Visual Interactive Code is unique
in several respects:
• Customized Content -- your regulations can be extensively illustrated with colorful graphics, pictures and video-clips, which not only makes the information easier to grasp, it helps ground the policy in a specific place. The top banner and window background colors can also be customized. To see an example of a pop-up illustrated commentary, click here.

• Full-text “Pin-point” Search –search results provides list of section locations and when a choice is selected, the exact location of the desired term is highlighted within the section’s text.
• Instant Access to Search – searching is easy, simply clicking on the “Search” button. The list provides easy side-by-side comparison of results.
• Continuous Location Update – the dynamic table of contents tracks and highlights your every move. The user is always oriented within the context of the whole document, reducing user intimidation because one is less likely to get "lost" or disoriented.
• Constant Visual Anchor -- everything in VIC appears within one split-framed window or in self-closing pop-up windows. No worry about extra windows opening or information “hiding” behind other windows. In most browsers, the left frame in VIC can be resized if desired.
• VIC's hyper-links provide instantaneous connections between related information, thereby allowing the user to gain a broader understanding of the interrelated issues and influences.
